Compared to patients with Stage I periodontal disease, patients were 1.25 times more likely to have high blood pressure in Stage II, 1.79 times higher in Stage III, and 2.32 times higher in Stage IV. These results add to the research behind the Mouth-Body Connection® and the link between oral health and cardiovascular health.
