Dental screenings flagged high blood pressure readings in patients with no reported history
1,765 of 4,510 (39%) surveyed patients who had no prior diagnosis of high blood pressure on record showed elevated readings (130/80) at their dental visit. Because patients typically see their dental team regularly, these visits are a natural moment to identify potential broader health risks. A single reading is not a diagnosis, but it does give care teams a clear reason to start a conversation with the patient and recommend medical follow-up.
