More than 1 in 4 dental patients surveyed reported having no primary care provider
Among 5,847 dental patients who were surveyed and screened, 1,544 (26.4%) reported having no primary care provider. Of those patients, 759 (49.2%) had a blood pressure reading above 130/80. For many, the dental chair may be the only place where their blood pressure is regularly checked, making the dental team an important entry point to the broader health system.
