Dental-Medical Integration

Dental-Medical Integration

We’re making integrated care a reality.

We’ve invested in the technologies, training and infrastructure to bring dental and medical care together in ways that move the entire healthcare system forward. From integrated health records and connected practices to clinical training and diagnostics, we’re building a new model of care — one designed to detect disease earlier, treat patients more completely and reflect the full picture of health.

Integration is our blueprint for better care.

Integrated Health Records

PDS Health was the first large dental group in the U.S. to implement Epic®, one of the nation’s most widely used electronic health record systems, across its supported practices. This platform now brings together both oral health and medical health histories into a single, comprehensive patient record. With shared access to clinical insights, providers can coordinate care more effectively, identify systemic risks earlier and support better outcomes.

Connected Practices

We’re testing and scaling multiple practice models to bring dental and medical care closer together. Some practices are located near each other and connected through shared systems and referral workflows. Others are co-located in the same building. And in some locations, dental and primary care teams work side by side in a fully integrated setting. Each model is designed to strengthen collaboration, streamline referrals and make convenient, whole-person care more accessible to every patient.

Better care begins with better understanding.

We invest in education at every level to support clinical excellence and empower patients to take an active role in their health. Education is foundational to our approach, advancing not only clinical skill but also awareness, prevention and informed decision-making across every level of care.

Advanced, Proven Technologies

We’re integrating powerful diagnostic tools into everyday care to support earlier detection, more personalized treatment and better long-term outcomes. These technologies are giving dental and medical providers new visibility into a patient’s systemic health.

Strategic Partnerships

We work with mission-aligned organizations to expand access, pilot new care models and accelerate adoption of integrated health strategies. From benefit design and diagnostic pilots to co-located practices and national health initiatives, our collaborations are advancing the real-world application of dental-medical integration.

We are setting the foundation for integrated care.

We work and partner with those who seek to improve coordination between providers and bring preventive care to more patients in more settings. Whether it’s aligning oral health and medical records, supporting chronic disease prevention or advancing public health education, we are working with industry leaders to turn shared goals into measurable outcomes.

We help shape the future of health care by advancing policies that recognize oral health as essential to overall health. Our team contributes to national conversations on value-based care, reimbursement models and expanded coverage for dental services. We advocate for a system that prioritizes prevention, health equity and positive long-term outcomes for every patient.

Through university partnerships and hands-on training programs, we bring dental-medical integration into the classroom and clinical experience. Students gain exposure to shared health records, team-based care and the practical tools that drive whole-person care forward.

We are working to align how care is delivered with how it’s covered. Through collaboration with payors, Medicare Advantage plans and employer groups, we help design benefit models that support integrated, preventive care.

Integrated care depends on a shared language. We're helping shape medical-dental coding standards that reflect how care is delivered today. By bridging systems, we make it easier for clinicians to collaborate and support value-based care.

We invest in technologies that shift care from reactive to preventive. Our innovation strategy brings new solutions into practice, including AI-powered diagnostics and real-time screening for inflammation and disease risk.
