Today, we are expanding that vision by connecting dentistry and primary care through shared technologies, integrated records and a model built to drive better outcomes.

Our story began with a single dental practice in Southern California, where our founder, Stephen E. Thorne IV, saw firsthand the challenges clinicians faced when forced to split focus between patient care and business operations. In 1994, he launched Pacific Dental Services with a new idea: give dentists the support they need to lead clinically and build thriving, patient-centered practices.
Over the next three decades, Pacific Dental Services transformed dental support, scaling across the country and bringing innovation to every aspect of care delivery. Along the way, one insight became impossible to ignore: oral health is deeply connected to overall health. And the current healthcare system wasn’t built to reflect that connection.
In 2024, we evolved from Pacific Dental Services to PDS Health, a healthcare company rooted in dentistry and leading the shift toward integrated, whole-person care. We support clinicians through business services, advanced, proven technologies and shared systems that bring oral health and medical care closer together.
We’re not here to maintain the status quo. We’re building something better.
