Creating healthier, happier patients extends beyond the walls of a dental practice. That commitment was on full display during a Give Kids A Smile event in Colorado, where four dental practices came together to provide more than $30,000 in donated dental care to 16 children ages two to 14.
Serving the Community Through Care
Held in recognition of Children's Dental Health Month in February, the event reflected a shared commitment to expanding access to oral healthcare for children and families who may otherwise face barriers to receiving treatment.
For participating clinicians and team members, the day was about more than providing dental care. It was an opportunity to help children feel comfortable in the dental chair, build trust with families and create positive experiences that can encourage a lifetime of healthy habits.
Children received preventive and restorative dental services in a welcoming, compassionate environment designed to make care more approachable for both patients and parents.
More Than a Day of Giving
For Amanda Haller, DDS, a board-certified pediatric dentist, the experience reinforced why community service is such an important part of her work.
"I had an amazing time volunteering for Give Kids a Smile. It was so special to serve our community,” said Dr. Haller. “The energy was so joyful and the families were fantastic. The hugs at the end of treatment from the kids made the morning all worth it. One little patient even offered to give me his toy because he was so happy to be there."
That spirit of service extended throughout the event as clinicians, team members and community partners worked together to create a memorable experience for every child. At My Kid's Dentist North Powers, local children's entertainment company provided balloon art and family-friendly entertainment, helping create a fun and welcoming experience for children and their families.
